The last week. :/
Tuesday was insanely hot. After work we went to the English Gardens for a bit to cool off. After a couple hours of hanging there, and conveniently right after we packed up our stuff, we were hit with the most random rain. It literally came from no where! On our walk home, we hopped in a fountain since we were already soaked anyways! We went to get ice cream at the Mad Hatter for the last time and visited Stammbar (the one with the taps that you get to pull on your own)!
On Wednesday, I was invited to have a Bavarian breakfast with my coworkers. It was a weird experience understanding only part of the German they spoke. I also realized this morning that I am not a fan of Weisswurst (boiled white sausage). Not my thing. After work we went swimming in the Isar and hung out there. We finished the evening by enjoying dinner at a biergarten.
I spent Thursday roaming around the city and purchasing the last minute gifts that I continued to tell myself “I’ll have time to get those later!” all summer. Today was that “later” date. We went to the Hirschgarten biergarten for dinner. It’s the world’s largest! We got to feed deer while we were there as well.
Friday was my final day of work, and final day in Munich. I started the morning by giving a presentation of my robot to my supervisors. After work, we all did our usual and final roaming about the city. As it was Friday, and our last Friday, we met up with our German friends for one last Freibier Freitag (a major highlight of the summer, if I’m being honest). After a late, final night out, I woke up bright and early Saturday morning and took the train to the airport to fly home.
This trip was an absolutely incredible experience. Quite honestly, it was one of the best — if not THE BEST — summer of my life. I met so many people and made many great friends and memories that I will cherish for life. Munich, Germany will forever and always hold a very special place in my heart. I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity to learn about the world and myself and I will most definitely be returning to this wonderful city some time soon!!
For some reason, I did not take very many photos this week. But here are the few that I did take!
